Murad Age-Balancing Night Cream (1.7 oz/$75)
Could I buy a tube of this if I wanted? Sure. Could I justify adopting this as my go-to night cream? No way. I do love it though and I squeezed every little bit out of my sample, so it makes the list.
May Coop Raw Sauce (5 oz./$42)
This one is along the same lines as the Murad – I could buy a bottle, but can’t justify adding it to my regular routine. So why prolong having to give it up? I got a deluxe sample of this toner in my first Memebox and I just love it. I still have some left (I don’t use it everyday), but my bottle is quickly running out.
Tiffany’s Paloma Picasso Olive Leaf Ring ($925)
18k gold with citrine. I’d wear it as my wedding ring probably (I’m currently on my 4th wedding ring . . . never can just stay with one. Thankfully the same does not apply to husbands.).
Jaguar XJL Portfolio AWD ($99,975)
British Racing Green with a long wheel base, carbon fiber interior veneer, and most of the extra features. I would never buy a green car, but for some reason I’ve always pictured a green Jag. [Or a baby blue tiny James Bond-style convertible.]
Culinary Tour of Italy ($6,000)
It is hard to price these things out online, but ideally the husband and I would tackle a couple of areas of Italy with eating and cooking classes. Mostly eating. Oh my mouth is watering.
Spring Cleaning ($2,000)
I’m talking everything – entire house scrubbed, linens washed, windows shined, front and back lawn manicured, brick and fence power washed, etc. I have to price to base my estimate on, but I would want the house to look new when they finished, so $2,000 sounds good.
ModCloth Dreamy Drift Dress by Tatyana/Bettie Page ($150)
Could I buy this? Yes. Do I need this? No. Would I look ridiculous in this? Probably. Do I love this? YES.
Prada Double Handle Tote in red ($2,650)
Love it! That bag just belongs on my shoulder. Red + Prada + Handbag = dream accessory!
1100 North Lake Shore Drive 40B, Chicago, IL 60611 ($4 million)
“One of a kind “True” Penthouse Triplex with magnificent lake & city views, full private floor and rooftop deck! 4 BR, 5/1 BA, polished porcelain floors, Rosewood walls, custom tile & millwork throughout. Designed for family use & entertaining w/4-wet bars, huge liv/din combo off kitchen, family room/den, media room w/built-in humidor with exhaust system. Top floor Solarium w/seating & eating area.”
The place needs some color, but I could fit right in those photos.
Samsung 28-cu ft 4-Door French Door Refrigerator, Stainless Steel ($3,200)
You know you are old when you add a refrigerator to your list of dream gifts. Hey look, Lowe’s has it on sale for $2,400!
The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, first edition – London, 1963 ($8,000-$10,000)
I would squeal with so much excitement if I ever got my hands on one of these.
Two Faced A La Mode Eyes palette ($36) and Sweethearts Blush in Peach Beach ($30) and Something About Berry ($30)
Again, could I buy these? Yes. Do I need these? No. I already own their Natural Eyes palette and the Sweethearts Blush in Candy Glow. Could I even use them up before they expired? Probably not. Are they amazing? Yes.
My remaining mortgage paid off ($90,000)
Hey, let’s be realistic here. I’d pay this off before I ever bought that Jaguar. This is a great birthday present.
The Cooke House, Frank Lloyd Wright ($3.75 million)
“Frank Lloyd Wright hemicycle, a one hour-flight from New York. Designed in 1953, built in 1959-60, this vacation home is on Crystal Lake. Features include: gym, sauna, swim spa/hot tub, deep water boat dock with access to the Atlantic Ocean. Walk to wide sandy beach and bike one mile to a 2,900-acre state park.”
