Where is my smash cake? [and a giveaway!]

Playfullytacky is one year old today! [throws confetti, blows party horn]

I have been blogging off and on for a while now – probably 10 years, way back in the Livejournal days (does that make me a blogging hipster?). Even though this blog doesn’t have that many readers. . . well, even though this blog has less readers than any of my other blogs. . . I like it the best. I feel pretty at home at Playfullytacky.com and plan to keep it up for a while.

Here are a few of my favorite individual posts from the last 365 days:
The Introvert Parent
An Unashamed Therapy Dropout
Planning for the End of it All
Looking Towards the Future
But Stuffies Never Hit
Let’s Talk About Fat
Not Quite a Gym Rat

In honor of this momentous occasion, I am going to do my first giveaway. I don’t know if I have enough readers for this, but we will give it a try. I thought it was only fitting that PlayfullyTacky’s first giveaway be something. . . well, tacky. One lucky winner will walk away with this. . . GILDED PIG!

wpid-20140316_193404.jpgwpid-20140316_193418.jpgI mean, really! What more could you want? He is adorable and gaudy and tacky and awesome. [Sorry for the filters, this guy is hard to photograph if you have no photography talent.]

To enter: Leave a comment telling me what you would do with Wilbur, the pig. Make sure and use a valid email address when you comment so I can get in touch with you if you win (don’t worry, your info won’t be used for any nefarious activities). The giveaway will close at midnight on Wednesday (CDT). I’ll choose a winner using Random.org.

Good luck!

  1. I would make him a traveling pig. Take him with me on trips and take pictures of his adventures and post them on Facebook. Or maybe his own blog even!

  2. I DO NOT want the pig, (My tacky is generally more speech than decor.) but I do love reading your blog! I like Sam’s idea for the travelling, blogging pig!

  3. Oh My Goodness. There are so many things I love about this. 1. I love giveaways! 2. I love shiny things! 3. And of course I love your blog and the new layout! I always look forward your posts in my reader 🙂
So what would I do with Ms. Piggy, I do believe I would put her in the kitchen so she can oversee all of my cooking activities. (I also concur that Sam’s idea is great!)

  4. Also love the new layout (and the blog generally)! Wilbur would join my family of pigs and pig-related products (watering can, stuffed animals – I’d share more if it didn’t make me seem like a crazy person). He’d be the first GOLD pig, but very welcome. Fingers and toes are crossed!
